Watercolor Print + Faux Leather Shorts

Greetings! I’m back from my extended LA weekend getaway and finally am catching up on everything! I spent most of my mini-vacation hanging out with friends and eating non-stop, but the catalyst that prompted my trip was to attend the 2014 Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conference. I’ll be recapping the event in a post next week, but for now, onto one of my LA outfits!

Inspired by SoCal’s sunny skies and picturesque coastline, I wore this flowy printed blouse and paired it with silver accents. I love how the top looks like a watercolor painting! Mixing hard and soft textures together is always a favorite of mine, and these faux leather shorts added the contrast and structure I was looking for.

I’m so glad I was able to see the Journey of a Dress exhibition! It was amazing to see Diane von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress transcend the test of time. The exhibit’s dates was recently just extended through May 1, so there is still plenty of lot of time to see it for yourself!

On an unrelated topic, remember my room redecoration project? Probably not, and that’s okay because I mentioned it in months out of sheer frustration. I did complete building my coveted shoe closet very early on, but the rest of my room revamp, however, has been incredibly slow-going. I have a very clear idea of what I want everything to look like, but finding all the right pieces (bedding, throw pillows, headboard, etc.) for a reasonable price has been quite the challenge! My luck seems to be changing, though, and I think I’ve finally found the perfect duvet cover and accent chair. I’m hoping to make a lot of progress this weekend, and I can’t wait to share the final outcome with you guys soon!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
