This weekend flew by in a complete blur. I had lots of walking to do (more on that later), so I looked out the window and decided that warm and comfortable seemed to make the most sense because of the rainy weather outside. I reached for a sparkly Bow & Drape sweater (sparkle is especially great on a dreary day!) and layered it over a black skater dress, tights and rain boots. For added warmth, I dug this ruffle jacket out of the archives to add an extra feminine edge that balanced out the dark bottom half of my outfit.
“Is it still raining?” (Yes, yes it was.)
Will someone please take me to Paris? 🙂
You can get your own sweater with a customized saying and/or design of your own choosing with Bow & Drape. Read about how it works or go straight to customizing! (Reminder: Closet Luxe readers get 15% off their purchase with the code CLOSETLUXE15! This code is valid through 2/28/14.)
Everyone should really get a clear bubble umbrella! Per my sister’s recommendation, I got one and it’s the most practical investment. You can see exactly where you’re going, it won’t flip inside out when it’s really windy, and your hair won’t get wet!
For now, this is as close to Paris as I’m going to get. *sigh*

So just where was I headed with all that walking?
The highlight of my weekend was a preview of local fashion designer, Alyssa Nicole. The theme of her demi-couture collection was “White Noise,” and everything was themed to match.
Her earlier work was easily recognizable with her use of bright colors and feminine silhouettes, and it was a nice to see her branch out with this muted and elegant color palette.
How adorable is she??
After the preview brunch, I walked over with these lovely ladies to support Jessica of Hapatime at her Lucky Magazine x Swatch event. There were tons of cute watches to look at, chocolate to eat, and a tarot card reader to give us more insight about ourselves. All in all, it was a great Saturday!
