Packing for NYFW was probably one of the most daunting things I’ve done in a while. The pressure was intense because you don’t just wear “normal” clothes there; you take risks and wear things that make a statement. Thankfully, Style Lend came to my rescue! While browsing through the San Francisco showroom’s selection, Melissa and Stacey Ann called me over and held up this structured, futuristic-looking piece and insisted that I try it on. I have to admit, I was hesitant at first, but after putting it on, my whole everything changed. Body language, attitude… I suddenly felt as badass as I looked.
It’s true what they say about fashion: it can completely change how you feel about yourself. And when I was wearing this amazing dress, I felt like I could do or take on anything. So of course, I had to pair it with shoes that made me feel equally as confident. (Fun fact: I scored these beauties at a sample sale the last time I was in New York!)
Sometimes the accessories can really make a look., and these mirrored sunglasses were certainly the finishing touch for this ensemble!
This outfit was the one I was most excited to wear at NYFW, and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to wear it to Marissa Webb‘s runway show. And what’s more, it actually was selected as one of Fashionista.com’s Best Looks of NYFW Day 1! I still can’t believe that I’m mixed in with so many of my fashion/blogger idols. =O
More NYFW-related posts are coming! I promise to share stories from our #SFBloggersTakeNYFW adventures and spill secrets of what it was really like being there as a first-timer. Stay tuned!
