Recently on Instagram, I saw someone post, “I’ll stop wearing black when they make something darker.” Yup, insert the hand-raising emoji here, because I can definitely relate to that!

Do you recognize these black pieces? If you’ve been following along for since last March, chances are, you do! I’ve blogged about my drop-waist pleated dress twice before (post #1 and post #2), and I just blogged about this vest a few entries back.

Why am I restyling these pieces again? All throughout July, I avoided buying any new clothes because I wanted to save up for my next 2 upcoming trips: New York and Hawaii. So, with no new clothes to wear or blog about (does this make me a bad blogger??), it set forth the challenge of getting the most wear out of my closet favorites. Honestly, I love doing this because I am forced to get creative with my pairings, which often leads to my best outfits. 🙂

When I say I love getting the wear out of my favorite things, I really mean it. I’ve actually owned these boots for over 4 years! I love the button detailing and how it pairs perfectly with the buttons on the vest.
