Vests are all the rage right now, and rightfully so! They make a great third layer, which is something I just read about on Who What Wear. In summary, adding a third layer (like a jacket, vest, scarf, hat or other statement accessory) instantly adds polish to your first two layers (pants and a top). I totally agree, and perhaps you already did this without realizing. 🙂

I have learned to always trust Stacy and Sasha, the women behind Adela Mei. They insisted I try this vest on, and while I was hesitant, I gave it a shot… and fell in love! The silhouette was certainly bigger than I was used to, and the length could have dwarfed my frame, but as I experimented with different items in my closet, I found that as long this vest was paired with something super slim-fitting on my bottom half, it always worked. It’s all about proportions! Keeping the look monochromatic also helped with the illusion of added height.

The vertical texture of this ribbed tank top is so interesting, and I love that it helps move the eye up and down, lengthening the look.

I’ve been home for a little over a week and a half now, and one of the most common questions I kept getting asked was if it was hard for me to come back. Without hesitation, I answered ‘no’, and that’s the truth. Three weeks in Paris was exactly the right amount of time for what I wanted to get out of my trip, and I left having done everything I had hoped to do. I was lucky that the jet lag wasn’t bad at all (it only took me 2 days to get back on California time!), but I will say that readjusting to staring at a computer screen all day f0r has been particularly difficult. It’s for that reason that it’s taken me this long to post anything since my return! But I’m starting to go through all the photos now, and I hope have a photo journal post up in the next two weeks.
