Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I am so honored that Christina is allowing me to write this guest post. I take on this task gratefully with an open heart and a throbbing headache because I’ve been sitting here at my computer for the past hour, hoping that inspiration will hurtle down at me from the blogging gods above.
Every woman and her mother know that one of the most crucial pieces in any female’s wardrobe is the little black dress, or LBD for short. Fashionistorians (Fashionistas who are historians. Yes, I just created that word. Patent currently pending.) attribute the origin of the LBD to the 1920s designs of Coco Chanel and Jean Patou. This elegant garment radiates ageless refinement. It transcends trends and time, intending to be an essential classic that is versatile, long-lasting, and universally flattering on all shapes and sizes.
This particular dress I’m wearing has so many beautiful and unique features that I feel like a movie star when wearing it, minus the red carpet and my hand on Ryan Gosling’s arm. From the fitted waist to the boning in the deep notch at my décolletage to the adorable cap sleeves. Plus it’s made from 100% pure cotton fabric. So it isn’t constructed from a thin material like saran wrap, but much thicker like that of your grandmother’s window curtains. Just without the mothballs aroma. However, my favorite feature must be the one-of-a-kind full skirt with dipped hem.
Cue the twirling!
I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with accessories since my LBD is the centerpiece of my ensemble. I added some classic pearl stud earrings, a single pearl droplet necklace, a simple gold bracelet, and my black ankle-strap pumps. However, I couldn’t resist hauling out my Chanel classic flap and taking her out with me. What LBD doesn’t go with Chanel?
Thank you so much for reading and tolerating my poor humor. It’s been a pleasure. And as a shameless publicity plug, if you were entertained and want to know more about me, please head on over to my comedy YouTube channel where I exhibit no shame in wearing wigs and telling bad jokes.
Happy Friday!
