I’m so sorry for disappearing again! Just like that saying, “when it rains it pours” — wait, is that a saying or just the Morton Salt motto?? — everything in my life got incredibly busy at the same time, and suddenly there wasn’t enough hours in the day to do everything again. But I’m not complaining, because everything that has been happening has been full of new and exciting challenges, and I can’t wait to share more later!
Anyway, back to the outfit. 🙂 On days when I have no time to plan a look, I always reach for a classic black and white combo. It’s effortless and timeless, and to take it to the next level, all you have to do is add a pop of color… in this case: red!
When I want to elevate a seemingly casual outfit into something fancier, I throw on the right coat or jacket that will take it up a notch. This particular coat is a favorite of mine because it has many elements that say “Chanel,” but it actually isn’t!
I recently discovered Kit and Ace, a Canadian brand founded by the same people who founded lululemon. Kit and Ace specializes in creating amazing tees and tops with a fabric they call Technical Cashmere (machine washable cashmere). Their fabrics are exactly what you would expect considering the name: super soft and incredibly comfortable.
Over my holiday road trip with my dad, I wore this black/white top and this tee on repeat because they were so travel-friendly. With more traveling on the horizon, I am already thinking of what other tops I need to add to my closet! (Should I splurge and get this blanket wrap? It’s expensive, but it would be perfect on a really long flight, since it could double as a pillow or blanket!)
Are those Valentino? No, they are not, but they sure made you wonder, didn’t they? 🙂 I can’t believe my find either, to be honest. I scored these lookalikes at DSW and they are surprisingly very comfortable.
Okay, guys, see you on THURSDAY for a special Valentine’s Day-themed post! 🙂

February 11, 2015 at 1:12 pmCan you please tell me the exact color of the shoes as written on box? TIA!
June 15, 2015 at 11:37 pmHi Eva, unfortunately I threw away the box! I looked at DSW.com and I don’t think the current nude/pink color is the same shade that I have. I got my pair before XMas and it really is a bright red, not a pink. Hope that helps! http://www.dsw.com/shoe/bcbgeneration+darron+pump?prodId=325758&productRef=SEARCH
