Packing for trips always give me a bit of anxiety. Of course, there are the typical questions (i.e. What if I forget something? What if I don’t pack the right things for the weather?) but for me, it’s more than that. I like to dress in the moment based on how I’m feeling right then, so trying to plan ahead and pack for the future is really hard, no matter how long I’m going away for.
The thing I’ve found to help alleviate some of the stress is to bring a handful of neutral-colored pieces that can be mixed and matched with ease. Black and white are my normal go-to colors, anyway, so of course that’s what I packed when I went to Sacramento last weekend. Also in my suitcase was a plethora of different colored tops that gave me choices when it came time to pick the right one to fit my mood.
I love the backs of these shoes! The gold studs and the corset-style strings add that special something to what would otherwise be standard black booties.
Evidently, Downtown Sacramento is not a hip place to be on a holiday weekend. The streets were empty of cars and people, which was a little eerie, but it was perfect to capture some moments in the middle of the roadway! Dodging traffic is overrated, anyway. 🙂
And now for some exciting news… I’ve partnered with Gazel, a San Francisco e-boutique, to bring you a giveaway that is exclusively open to our Facebook community!
Gazel specializes in handcrafted jewelry that comes all the way from Turkey. Having seen every piece in person, I can guarantee they are all gorgeous. My favorite from their collection has to be these stunning earrings made of onyx and smokey quartz because they will go with everything, and these are what Gazel and I are giving away!
Head on over to my Facebook giveaway page to learn how you can win these beautiful earrings!
