I had quite a few lovely readers mention they were excited for my outfit posts from Paris, but I’m sad to report that I didn’t actually take many photos of myself or what I was wearing! This probably makes me the worst fashion blogger, but It was incredibly important to me that I put away technology for the week as much as I could, and be present in the moment so that I could truly experience and enjoy my vacation.
That said, my friend did manage to stop me long enough to take two outfit snaps taken while we were out and about. 🙂
On this day of my trip, it was warm and sunny, so I paired one of my new favorite tops over some comfortable denim shorts. I kept the top untucked for a super casual, daytime look. On another evening, I pulled out this top again and used it as a sweater, wearing it unbuttoned, over a graphic tee. This kind of blouse is really great because you can also easily take it from day to night by tucking it into a sleek pair of black skinnies, adding a belt, and swapping in a nice pair of heels or boots.
Later in the week, the weather kept changing, so I started dressing in layers. In this second look, I layered a chambray shirt over a boxy printed dress. Since the boxy look isn’t the most flattering on my small frame, I knotted the shirt in a way that defined my waistline in place of a belt, and added leggings that I could have easily taken off, had the sun come out (it didn’t).
In both of these outfits, you might have noticed that my shoes didn’t change. The cobblestone streets were no joke, and after walking an average of 10 miles a day (that’s over 100k total steps!), I cannot stress how important it is for any Paris-goer to have the right footwear. I was so thankful I listened to my friends and invested on a pair of Munro boots. They were worth every penny as they were both stylish and practical. An added bonus was I was able to switch out their insoles with my own custom orthotics. (Fun fact: I have flat feet, so orthotics when I’m doing a lot of walking is an absolute must!)
I’ll be back next week for my last Paris-related post, so I’ll see you guys then. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
