Those who know me will tell you that I hardly ever wear vibrant colors and patterns, but oddly enough, this skirt really spoke to me when I first saw it. I bought it back in the fall (Target clearance, FTW!), but every time I went to wear it, I shied away from the loudness of the print.
However, with the 30-day Closet Remix Challenge well underway, I realized I couldn’t afford to have items sit unworn in my closet, otherwise I’d definitely run out of things to wear! So, by default, the secondary challenge was made: be bolder.
Still not ready to create a print-on-print ensemble, I paired the skirt that inspired the challenge with a black and white top. I loved how the quirky sequin hat hanging off of the “M” complimented the fun pattern below.
A classic blazer and a pair of chunky-heeled boots anchored and polished off the look. I think this would be a fun outfit to wear to work!
I went easy on the accessories since everything else in my look was loud. It’s all about balance. 🙂
Has anyone else had an item in their closet that challenged them like my skirt challenged me? I’d love to hear your stories!
