When H&M finally launched their Studio AW14 Collection in the United States, I immediately jumped online to grab this beaded top. The detailing looked so pretty in the photos, and when it arrived in the mail, it was even more stunning than I expected. I’m sure you will agree: H&M has been killing it this year!
All the intricate detailing really made this top quite heavy, but I can see it being perfect for the holidays!
This open-back design was a surprise to me! Maybe I just wasn’t paying close attention to the pictures on the website, but only when I went to put the top on did I realize what was happening in the back. I love how it has that unexpected factor. 🙂
Today is very special to me, because exactly a year ago, Closet Luxe began to spark to life. On September 19, 2013, there was an event hosted by Refinery29, Tiffany & Co, and Song of Style to usher in the new Tiffany Atlas Collection. Sadly, by the time I found out about it, the guest list was closed. I was disheartened, but my best friend and a few coworkers encouraged me to try my luck at the door. After all, they said, this was an event made for a fashion lover like me. I was nervous, but I did what they suggested.
I donned my best outfit with a pair of killer heels — which, by the way, had just come in the mail that day — and off I went. I was still nervous, but this outfit gave me the confidence I needed to act like I truly did belong at this event. The plan worked, and the girl at the door let me in!
This sounds cliché, but as I stepped inside Tiffany’s, I felt like I was stepping into a new chapter of my life. On this night, with everyone so dressed up, so fashionable, I became incredibly inspired. Up until then, starting a style blog was only an idea in the back of my mind. But as I wandered the party in a magical blur, blogger after blogger, including Aimee Song, encouraged me to turn my idea into reality. I owe all of these lovely women everything, because it was their kind words that turned my blogging spark into a flame.
So, to those bloggers, Khailey and Ryan (whom I also met that night), and to my BFF and coworkers who told me not to take “no” for an answer: From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Congratulations on the success of your blog, even though I’m a new follower, it really is beautiful and such an amazing site. I loved your story about heading to the party and so happy you got in, it was really inspiring to hear!
