Today I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new.
Today’s post is all about bras, or more specifically, the “visual bra” fashion trend. In traditional settings (like at school, work, a wedding, etc.) keeping undergarments hidden makes absolute sense. But there is a time and place for everything, so what about when you’re not in a traditional setting and you don’t have to worry about dress codes? And what about all of those sheer tops and muscle tanks that are everywhere right now?
This is sure to be a controversial topic since undergarments are arguably called that for a reason, but nowadays, the rules seem to be so much more lax. Bras are also ten times cuter than they used to be, so I can understand wanting to show them off a little, so long as it’s done in a tasteful way.
I’ve been wanting to challenge myself to try out this trend, so I experimented with letting my bralette peek out from a deep V-neck top. I liked how the flirty lace contrasted with the modern, casual take on a classic pinstripe shirt.
I will admit, I felt self-conscious at first, showing that little bit of lace. I found myself constantly tugging at my top, making sure the neckline wasn’t gaping open too much when I moved. But then I realized that my nervous actions were actually bringing more attention to the area in question, more than if I had just left things alone and owned what I was wearing.
Confidence, it’s all about confidence!
So what do you guys think about this trend? Would you/do you ever intentionally show off your cute bras?
