I’m super excited to share these photos with you all, because it was a long time in the making.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you might recall seeing me post a picture about this very dress a year ago, begging people to give me a reason to buy it. Several friends (namely Joanna and my late friend, Gernard) kept telling me it was worth getting because I’d eventually find somewhere to wear it. Then—no joke—it went on sale the very next day. Obviously, it was a sign, and purchased it became.
Fast forward a year later, and I finally was able to take this dress out of my closet. Michelle, a photographer I had met earlier in the year, had been wanting to shoot a 1920’s glam look, and then we found Angy, who transformed me into a porcelain doll straight out of the Roaring Twenties. Team work makes the dream work!
It was such a treat to work with these talented ladies. And to have my hair and makeup completely unlike anything I’ve ever worn before, I like a whole other person. Funny little story: After this shoot, I had to rush home and renew my apartment lease. I only had time to wipe away the dark lipstick and some of my blush before my landlords came over. I’m pretty sure I scared them a little with my smokey eyes! LOL.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this post! Thank you, as always, for stopping by and reading. 🙂
