    Being Bolder

Those who know me will tell you that I hardly ever wear vibrant colors and patterns, but oddly enough, this skirt really spoke to me when I first saw it. I bought it back in the fall (Target clearance, FTW!), but every time I went to wear it, I shied away from the loudness of the print.

However, with the 30-day Closet Remix Challenge well underway, I realized I couldn’t afford to have items sit unworn in my closet, otherwise I’d definitely run out of things to wear! So, by default, the secondary challenge was made: be bolder.

    Bow & Drape + A Special Offer

    bowdrape_1

Have you ever wanted create a custom piece of clothing just for you? Have it say what you want it to say? Bow & Drape can help!

I first heard about Bow & Drape while I was flipping through an issue of InStyle magazine. The blurb was short and focused on how they provided the service to build and customize a dress to your liking, which I found intriguing enough. Every body shape is different, so the idea of being able to customize a dress style, cut, length, etc. was exciting!

Upon visiting their website, I was surprised and delighted to find that Bow & Drape was much more than InStyle had led me to believe. Not only can you customize a dress, but you can also customize tees, jackets, skirts, pants, belts, scarves, clutches, swimsuits, and even a sweater for your pup — whew, what a list!

    Do Epic Chic

I’m officially back from vacation! Did everyone have a good New Year? Sorry I’ve been so AWOL, but it’s great to be back. I have to tell you, I was really eager to blog again after just a few days, but I simply didn’t have the time. (Plus, I got sick right after Disneyland and after going through 4 boxes of tissues in 4 days, my nose was not in the mood to be photographed!)

The weather sure is crazy, isn’t it? While the Midwest and Northeast of the US is facing record-breaking cold temperatures (shout-out to all of you who are out there; stay warm and safe), California is experiencing the exact opposite. It’s uncharacteristically warm here in San Francisco, and taking advantage of the sun, I donned my new favorite tee and trekked up to Grace Cathedral to soak up the sun.

A quick hello before the holidays!

Hello hello! I’m only here for a quick outfit post today because I’ve been crazy busy trying to wrap up work before a two-week vacation. (As you read this, I’m actually already on Trip #1: LA/DIsneyland!) I’ll post when I can over the next two weeks, but I’ll mostly just be posting pictures on Instagram.

May all of you have the merriest of holidays! Enjoy this time with loved ones… and don’t feel guilty about stuffing your face with holiday cookies; you can worry about that later, when you make good on your New Year Resolutions. 😉

    Channeling Chanel

“The Chanel jacket is a man’s jacket which has become typically feminine… [It] has come to symbolize a certain nonchalant feminine elegance that is timeless.”

    — Karl Lagerfeld

In this blogger’s opinion, there is nothing more classic than a Chanel jacket. It is innately sophisticated, and every woman should have something like it in her closet. Of course, most of us will never be able to afford the real deal, but that doesn’t mean we can’t channel our inner Chanel with an inspired piece!

RocksBox: A Busy Girl’s Jewelry Solution

I love jewelry, but I always find myself going to the same shops when searching for something new. It’s great to have those tried-and-true places, but it’s also nice to have variety and the excitement of discovery. But how are busy working girls, who don’t have a lot of time, supposed to go to different stores to find these new baubles? Online shopping for jewelry can be especially daunting and difficult; often times, sizing is not what you expect, things don’t look good as they did in the photo, or there are just too many choices to sift through.

If only there was a service out there that could help select pieces specifically for us… Oh wait, there is! Meet RocksBox.

In their own words, Rocksbox is your personal jewelry stylist. You can experiment with different looks and discover the latest designers.

In my own words, they are like Netflix, but for jewelry. You fill out a style survey and they send you a box with 3 pieces of jewelry, hand-selected based on your survey responses. You can keep the box for up to 60 days, or exchange it as often as you’d like to keep the surprises coming.

What are my thoughts on RocksBox? Read more
