I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family and friends! As I mentioned in my previous post, I spent my holiday weekend up in Oregon visiting my sister, who goes to Oregon State University. It was really exciting to see where she has been spending the last year and a half while away from home. I don’t know how she stands the temperature, though, because wow, was it cold!

Dressing for the unfamiliar frosty weather and our impending Thanksgiving feast had me reaching for layer after layer. I knew I wanted to wear a dress (how else was I going to indulge while retaining comfort?), but I didn’t want to worry about a food baby showing, so I layered on a houndstooth sweatshirt, making the dress look like a skirt.

I had been on a mad hunt looking for the perfect faux fur, be it a vest or jacket, but on my petite frame, everything looked like it was wearing me, rather than the other way around. I finally lucked into finding this beauty (she was even double-discounted!), so on went this third layer. This jacket was warm and cozy, and turned out to be my saving grace this entire trip.

Haha, I kind of look like a furry bear here. =D

To keep my bottom half warm, I wore HEATTECH leggings, 2 pairs of socks, and a pair of rainboots that — to my delight — look nothing like rainboots at all! They also get extra brownie points fitting narrow calves well.
